A Day to Give Back to Heroes
You may have noticed that we have a new Heroes section on our site, profiling real-life heroes who trust their vision to Eagle Eyes. Honoring heroes isn't anything new--we've been doing it for years through our special Buy One, Give One sales for holidays like Independence Day and Veterans' Day. During these sales, for every pair of Eagle Eyes purchased by people like you, we donate a pair to service members through the nonprofit Operation Gratitude. Over the years, we've donated more than 10,000 pairs of Eagle Eyes to men and women in the U.S. armed services.
This year, we're doing something a little different and teaming up with Operation Gratitude to honor first responders. The glasses from our current Buy One, Give One sale will be put into care packages and sent to first responders, like the brave firefighters who helped fight the Woolsey Fire here in southern California where Eagle Eyes is headquartered.
200 Eagle Eyes sunglasses and cleaning kits will be added to the First Responder Care Pouches on February 22. Another 800 pairs of sunglasses will go in Care Packages for Honor Flight Veterans on February 23, also known as Assembly Day, at Operation Gratitude's FOB (Forward Operating Base) in Chatsworth, California. Hundreds of volunteers will put together care packages that include handwritten letters from kids across the country, playing cards, puzzles, socks, lip balm, scarves, hats, snacks, and of course, advanced optic technology from Eagle Eyes. We can't wait for hundreds of first responders to open up their care packages and find Eagle Eyes sunglasses that include original NASA optic technology to block scattered blue light and 99.9% of harmful UV radiation. If anyone deserves that kind of advanced protection, it's the men and women dedicating their lives to protecting fellow Americans.
